Why – Title, Meta tag Keywords and Description is Important

The title tag, the Meta description and keywords tags should consist of keywords applicable to the content of the web page they describe. You should think about the length and the order of the characters/words included in each of the meta tags. Note that the search engine robots always read from left to right and those words that come first are more important than those that come towards the end of the page.

Meta Tag
The Meta tags are very important element of the HTML code of any web page. They are read by the search engines but are not displayed as a part of web page design. They consist of a short synopsis of the web page content and you should include your appropriate keywords in them. A good number of Meta tags are included within the ‘header’ code of a website. The most important tags are the title, description, and keywords and robot tags.

<title>Website Designing, Web Development, Logo Design, Website Maintenance</title>

<meta name=description content=”WebTakersIT: A Signature Address for Complete Web Solutions”>

<meta name=keywords contents=”Website Design, Web Design, Web Development, Web Page Designing”>

<meta name=”robots” content=”index, follow”>

Title tag

Titles are short and to the point description of a webpage.
Title is one of the most key factors for a winning search engine optimization of any website. Located within the section, right above the Description and Keywords tag, it provides summarized information about website. The title is what appears on search engines result page. The Title leads the information.

Meta Description Tag
The description tag should be organize in such way that it will show about your website information contains or what your website is about. Use simple, short and clear sentences that will attract visitors.
The description tag should contain less than 200 characters. The Meta description tag also has a great value for the SEO optimization of web page. It is most important for the visitor when looking at the search engine result page – this tag is often displayed and helps you to differentiate your site from the others in the list.

Keywords are the words; people will type in to a search engine to get information. If the keywords are the same as the ones put in, you come up in the search engine’s results pages. How high up you are depends on your ability to pick superior words and use a few actions.

The code:

<meta name=”keywords” content=” Website Design, Web Design, Web Development, Web Page Designing “>

You just put in your words, separated by commas. You can put in as many as you want, but I would recommend against more than 25-30. Many search engines observe pages with hundreds of keywords as spam pages, and delete them from their indexes, and you don’t want that.

Selection of your keywords is the art. You should use the words you personally would use if you were looking for a page about your topic. A better step is to use KEY PHRASES instead of just words on their own.

If your site is comparatively new, a good approach is to focus on some new and accurate key phrases that you know will be easy to get the top-spot for. This will give you 100% of those visitors. You can boost traffic by picking the key phrases and getting to the top on those particular searches on the major search engines.
